Yogendra’s Second Chance: Powered by Compassion

Yogendra Singh Chauhan, a brave and innocent 3-year-old boy from Punjab, was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma — a rare and aggressive type of eye cancer.

This dangerous disease posed a severe risk, threatening not only his eyesight but also the possibility of spreading to other parts of his little body. Immediate treatment was critical to save both his vision and his life.

His parents, Sambhu Singh, a daily wage labourer, and Manisha Chauhan, were devastated. The family’s tragedy deepened with the memory of their elder daughter Bhoomika, who had already lost one eye to the same illness. Having spent all their savings on Bhoomika’s treatment, they were left without any financial means to continue Yogendra’s urgent care.

Financial Challenge

The estimated total cost for Yogendra’s chemotherapy, surgeries, medications, and specialized care was ₹2,26,229.00. With Sambhu Singh unable to continue working after Yogendra’s diagnosis, and with no savings left after their daughter’s treatment, the family faced a heart-wrenching crisis. Without timely financial support, they risked watching their son lose his eyesight and possibly his life.

How Saviour Foundation Stepped In

When Sambhu Singh and Manisha Chauhan approached Saviour Foundation, our team immediately took up Yogendra’s case under the Save A Life Program. Recognizing the urgency, we quickly:

  • Launched a dedicated fundraising campaign.
  • Engaged our donor community and CSR partners for financial assistance.
  • Coordinated with the hospital for Yogendra’s immediate admission.
  • Ensured continuous medical attention and emotional support for the family

Thanks to the collective compassion and swift action of our supporters, we successfully raised the necessary funds and began Yogendra’s treatment without delay.

Today, due to timely medical care and the incredible kindness of our donor community, Yogendra Singh Chauhan is bravely undergoing treatment and responding positively to his ongoing care. The hope shining in his parents’ eyes speaks volumes about the power of unity, empathy, and community support.
