His parents, Sanjay Kumar, a daily wage labourer from Punjab, and Rinki Devi, were devastated by this diagnosis. Already burdened by tragedy, they had earlier lost their elder daughter Bhoomika’s eye to the same disease. The family had exhausted their entire savings on Bhoomika’s treatment, leaving them helpless and heartbroken when Virat was diagnosed with the same cruel illness.
The total estimated cost required for Virat’s urgent and ongoing treatment — including eye-saving surgery, chemotherapy, and specialized oncology care — was Rs. 1,25,800.00. With no financial resources left, and Sanjay Kumar unable to continue his labour work since Virat’s diagnosis, the family was desperate for support to save their little boy’s eyesight and life.
When Virat’s family approached Saviour Foundation, our team swiftly took up the case under our Save a Life Campaings. Realizing the urgency and severity of the situation, we launched an emergency fundraising appeal and raised awareness about Virat’s critical condition through our wide network of generous donors, well-wishers, and CSR partners.
In a short time, we successfully mobilized the required funds for his life-saving treatment. The foundation also coordinated with the hospital to ensure Virat received prompt, high-quality care. Alongside financial assistance, our team offered the family moral and emotional support, assuring them they were not alone in this difficult battle.
Thanks to the collective compassion and timely intervention, Virat has undergone essential treatment and is showing hopeful signs of recovery, with his eyesight being preserved.
This moving story of resilience and hope could not have been possible without the heartfelt generosity of our kind donors, supporters, and CSR partners. Saviour Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to every individual and organization that stood by Virat and his family during this trying time. Your kindness did more than fund a treatment — it gave a child his sight, his smile, and a chance to see the world again.
